Man accused of stealing from retired SSP Adams denied bail

A man who stole more than $J200,000 from retired Senior Superintendent of Police Reneto Adams was on Tuesday denied bail when he appeared in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court.

The accused, 40-year-old Victor Grey of a Kingston 11 address, was employed by Mr. Adams as a driver.  Grey pleaded guilty to ten counts of simple larceny. He is booked to return to court on October 29 when he will be sentenced.

The court was told that during the month of August Grey used Mr. Adams' ATM card without his knowledge and withdrew funds from his account.
