Man fatally shot by police in St. Elizabeth

A man who was accused of terrorising residents of Southfield in St. Elizabeth, was fatally shot by the police on Friday. 
 
He has been identified as 30-year-old Eddie Bailey of Seaview district in Southfield. 
 
Bailey was shot during a major police operation led by head of the St. Elizabeth Police, Superintendent Coleridge Minto. 
 
It is reported that about 1 p.m., Superintendent Minto and 50 police personnel conducted a series of targeted operations in several communities including Crawford, Speculation, Williamsfield, Flagamam and Southfield.
 
The cops went to a house occupied by the suspect in Southfield, where they were reportedly greeted with gunfire. 
 
During a reported confrontation, Bailey was fatally shot and a firearm seized.
