A 32-year-old man was fatally shot during a reported confrontation with a police team in Portmore, St. Catherine on Wednesday night.
An illegal firearm was reportedly seized.
The man has been identified as Horace Romaine Dish, otherwise called 'Jesus Fresh', of Southboro in Portmore.
The police say at 10:15 p.m., a team was conducting an operation in the area when they went to 25 Cent Lane where Dish lived.
The police say Dish confronted the officers when they attempted to accost him.
He reportedly brandished an illegal firearm and was shot.
A Glock pistol fitted with a magazine containing four rounds was reportedly seized from the scene.
Dish was pronounced dead at hospital.
