The Independent Commission of investigations (INDECOM) is probing the fatal shooting of a man by the Manchester police after he attacked and chopped his father at their house at DeCarteret Road in Mandeville on Monday morning.
He has been identified as Okarie Gayle.
Mr. Gayle's father was taken to hospital. His condition is not known.
Reports are that Mr. Gayle wounded his 77-year-old father with a machete and the police were called.
Upon the arrival of the police, they allegedly instructed the younger man to drop the weapon, but he refused.
He was then shot.
