Manhunt for courier driver suspected of stealing up to $20 million

Halshane Burke reports

A manhunt is underway for an employee of a courier company who reportedly stole between $15 to $20 million in cash from one of the courier trucks on the weekend.

Radio Jamaica News was informed that the man, a driver with the company, was part of a three-member team collecting cash from the MegaMart store on Waterloo Road in St. Andrew last Saturday.

His two colleagues were inside and he remained in the vehicle.

Sources told Radio Jamaica News that the man then took off his uniform, left his firearm and made off with $15 to $20 million in cash.

The police and officials of the company reportedly conducted a raid on his home in Linstead, St. Catherine, but there has been no trace of him.

It's understood that the St. Andrew Central Police are aware of the incident, but have not received a fulsome report from the company regarding the matter.
