The masked man seen in a video threatening Prime Minister Andrew Holness and his family as well as residents of Clarendon was taken into custody on Thursday.
The video has been making the rounds on social media.
Senior Superintendent of Police Stephanie Lindsay, head of the Constabulary Communications Network, told Radio Jamaica News on Friday morning that the man is in hospital under police guard.
SSP Lindsay explained that when the police went to apprehend him, he eluded the lawmen and injured himself in the process.
The police later received information that the man was being treated at hospital for his injuries.
He was subsequently arrested.
Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday morning, Deputy Commissioner of Police Fitz Bailey said the man was known to police and efforts were being made to apprehend him.
