An undetermined number of persons are now homeless
following a massive fire on Slipe
Pen Road in Kingston
between Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning.
The fire, which broke out shortly before 11, destroyed several dwellings in an area known only as "Board Villa."
There were no reports of injuries.
Four units battled the blaze which was brought under control about 1 o'clock Wednesday morning.
An eyewitness told our news centre what happened.
"Well when I came down here the fire truck wasn't here yet. When I ran down into the lane the fire had already started to blaze and a friend said two of his houses burnt down and his cylinder burst and his house burnt down flat,
"He called the fire brigade about an hour ago and they were just turning up by that time most of the houses caught fire because is a board villa and the low wires cause the fire to spread," said an eyewitness.
It has not been ascertained what caused the blaze.
