Several persons Friday viewed the body of Jamaica's
Olympian and sportsman extraordinaire, the Honorable Herb McKenley.
The viewing took place at the National Arena, ahead of Friday night's wake.
The track great will be given an official state funeral Saturday, starting at 2 p.m., after which he will be buried at the National Heroes Park.
Mr. McKenley died last week Monday after a prolonged illness.
He was 85-years-old.
He is still the only athlete to have reached an Olympic track final in all three of the classic sprint events, 100, 200 and 400 metres.
His Olympic medal total of one gold and three silvers includes losing the 1952 Helsinki Olympic 100-metre title to American Lindy Remigino in the closest finish yet for that event.
McKenley leaves widow, Beverley and four children.
