There was fanfare and cheering at Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston Friday evening, as the reigning Miss World, Toni-Ann Singh, arrived in Jamaica for a three day visit.

Ms Singh, who was crowned on last Saturday, arrived just over half an hour ago on a British Airways flight from London.

She was accompanied by Julia Morley, CEO of Miss World, as well as her parents.

Culture Minister Olivia Grange, Foreign Affairs Minister Kamina Johnson Smith and other government officials were on site to greet the new Miss World on her arrival.

A media briefing will be held Saturday morning during which Ms Singh will speak about her experience at the Miss World pageant.

Later in the day, a cultural tribute will be held at Emancipation Park where she will perform.

She is also expected to appear in St. Thomas at dancehall artiste Popcaan's Unruly Fest on Saturday night.

Toni-Ann Singh is the fourth woman from Jamaica to win the Miss World title. The title was previously held by Carole Joan Crawford, Cindy Breakspeare and Lisa Hanna.
