Eleven men have been fingered by the police as the most wanted for a range of crimes including murder, shooting and robbery.

The names were released at a press conference Monday afternoon by head of the Major Investigations Task force Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Les Green.

The eldest of the men being sought is Cedric Murray, 34, also called ‘Paul Brown' or ‘Doggie', who is priority number one for members of the Police Force.

He is wanted in connection with a triple murder in Montego Bay, St. James in 2006.

Murray is known to frequent Norwood and Salt Spring in St James and Coronation Market in Kingston.

The others listed range in age from 19 to 30 years and almost all of them are wanted in connection with several murders, shootings and robberies.

Rounding out the top three are Jemmell Holgate, 24 and Ryon Bailey also called ‘Rasta'.

Holgate is wanted for the murder of Ruel Isaacs in Spanish Town St. Catherine on August 4 last year.

Holgate who frequents Tredegar Park in Spanish Town is considered armed and dangerous.

Bailey, who hails from Gobay also in St. Catherine, is wanted for three counts of murder committed in the community on November 25th last year.

He is known to frequent the Spanish Town bus terminus, Matthew's Lane in Kingston and Portmore in St. Catherine.

Linton Drynden, 29, is number four on the list.

He is wanted for the murder of Elaine and Christine Chin in Bog Walk St. Catherine on June 17th 2005.

He is known to frequent Waltham Park road, Tivoli and 34 Pink Lane, all in Kingston.

The other four persons listed as armed, dangerous, Christopher Barrett also called ‘Chicken Back' of Gregory Park, St. Catherine; Wilberforce Matterson, known as ‘Cracker' of Portmore Villa, Lincoln Powell called ‘Harry Dog' of Brook Valley and Carey Rose also called ‘Tyson' of Yancey Place in Kingston.

Powell is wanted for the murder of Detective Corporal Dave Daley on December 2nd, 2007, while Rose is wanted for the murder of Detective Sergeant Egerton Brown in September of last year.

The final three, Alton Gordon, 24, Adiff Washington and Richard Brown, 20, are wanted for shooting with intent as well as murder.

ACP Green explained the reasoning behind the publication of the most wanted list.

"The most wanted doesn't mean someone who has killed the most, what we want to do is remove those who are most active and are the biggest threat to the communities. We had to prioritize on those we (felt) would bring the (most) harm to particular communities or areas. So, what we've done is identified those who are wanted for particular crime across Jamaica ...," ACP Les Green explained.

The police have issued a bounty of $1 million each for information leading to the capture of the men.
