Netanyahu says Israel will enter Rafah with or without US support

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says Israel will conduct a ground offensive into the southern Gaza city of Rafah even without US support.

The comments came after an in-person meeting with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Friday, at which Blinken said going into Rafah would further isolate Israel around the world.

Russia and China vetoed a US-proposed United Nations Security Council resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire and the release of remaining hostages in Gaza.

Sources say talks on a ceasefire and hostages deal resumed in Qatar on Friday.

US and Israeli officials are also slated to meet in Washington next week.
