Residents of New Holland in St. Elizabeth have expressed frustration over how care packages are being distributed.

Others have stressed the need for more water, for drinking and domestic purposes.

The residents with whom Radio Jamaica News spoke say elderly people are at a disadvantage.

"No, mi cyaan move up and down. Mi haffi tek mi time, haffi go outta door go tek up someting and tek mi time come back een. For if mi walk and mi get likkle slide or mi foot buck and mi drop, mi cyah move. Mi haffi wait until somebody come and mi beg dem a help and dem help mi, put mi back in dere suh. So that's why mi haffi just sit down," she lamented, adding that because of this, much of the assistance to the area passes her by," an elderly resident of New Holland, who recently suffered a stroke, told reporter Romardo Lyons.

Another resident, Nickeisha Wallace, has appealed for government teams and donors to go into the districts so more residents can be reached.

"We're getting help, but like on the main. You see like in the districts, when you come in the district, there are many different lanes in the district, so sometimes we in the far back, we don't get any assistance," she explained.

The residents are also calling for the assessment of properties damaged in the hurricane to begin.
