The mother of Tianey Stephens
The St Catherine South Police are attempting to soothe tempers on Terminal Road in Old Harbour Bay after irate residents set fire to debris and blocked the main road in protest against the fatal shooting of a teenager during a joint security forces operation yesterday morning.
The official version from the police is that, during a raid at a house the 17 year-old, Tianey Stephens, was shot and a Browning 9mm pistol, with a magazine containing seven rounds, was seized.
Residents claim that young men on Terminal Road are being targeted by the police in their search for a wanted man.
Tianey's mother is maintaining that the killing of her son was unjustified, claiming it was an "execution."
