One Don Gang trial: Attorney accuses witness of implicating his client due to dispute over woman

Defence attorney Courtney Rowe on Wednesday said malice was the reason for the main witness at the One Don trial giving evidence against his client.

Mr. Rowe, who is representing Marco Miller, told the Home Circuit Court that the witness's desire to implicate Mr. Miller started after he impregnated his girlfriend.

The witness, who was being cross-examined, chuckled and denounced the attorney's suggestion.

The witness said Mr. Miller was never in his league when it came to women.

The girlfriend in question was called in the courtroom by Mr. Rowe for the witness to identify her.

The attorney told the court that the witness messaged the woman and accused her of having a relationship with Mr. Miller.

The witness denied the accusations.

Technical difficulty

The trial was adjourned early Wednesday afternoon due to technical challenges.

The court was forced to take an early mid-morning break and extend the lunch break due to insufficient bandwidth to connect to the remote location where the witness is testifying.

Efforts by attorney Courtney Rowe to show the witness photographs were futile.

Earlier in the trial, the witness had testified that defendant Marco Miller was among alleged gang members who killed and buried two men said to be from Denham Town in Kingston.
