One Don Gang trial: Roel Taylor found guilty of firearm charges

By Racquel Porter

One of the 26 defendants in the One Don Gang trial has been found guilty.

Roel Taylor was found guilty Wednesday afternoon for illegal possession of firearm and ammunition by Chief Justice Bryan Sykes in the Home Circuit Court.

Another defendant, Carl Beech, was freed on Tuesday.

Justice Sykes has been summing up the evidence presented by prosecutors against reputed gang leader Andre "Blackman" Bryan and members of the One Don Gang over the last few weeks.

Prosecutors accused the men of being involved in an organised crime syndicate responsible for several murders, shootings and extortion in Spanish Town, St. Catherine.

The Chief Justice Sykes has already stated that based on the evidence presented, he is satisfied that "Blackman" is the leader of the criminal organisation.

Taylor is a cousin of Bryan.
