The Office of Utilities Regulation (OUR) has now received the technical report from the Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS), on last weekend’s island-wide power outage.
The company has also promised to submit more information to the OUR by next Tuesday August 14.
Earlier this week the OUR, after receiving a preliminary report, requested from the JPS, additional information which will assist in determining the cause of the outage, as well as the integrity and security of the system.
In a release from the OUR on Friday, it stated that the report will be analysed to determine what regulatory interventions may be required.
The JPS had reported that a system disturbance in the vicinity of the Duhaney sub-station, cascaded to eventually affect all customers between midnight last Sunday and early Monday morning.
The OUR says the data will help to determine the cause of the outage as well as the integrity and security of the JPS system.
