A pedestrian died after being hit by a vehicle on the AGR Byfield Highway in St. Ann on Sunday.
The motorist did not stop.
The deceased has been identified as 35-year-old Damian Carr, otherwise called 'Turks', of Windsor Road in St. Ann's Bay.
Mr. Carr was reportedly crossing the highway about 5:50 a.m. when he was struck by the vehicle.
He was assisted by passersby to the nearby St. Ann's Bay Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The St. Ann traffic department is appealing to witnesses to report any information they may have.
