The Passport, Immigration and Citizenship Agency (PICA) says its online passport renewal application process for adults is now operational.
The system was introduced during a launch ceremony in Kingston.
Chief Executive Officer of PICA, Andrew Wynter, said the online adult passport renewal system will enhance service delivery by significantly reducing the turnaround time for persons to receive a passport.
He said prior to the introduction of the system, Jamaicans, especially those living in rural areas and the diaspora, had to travel significant distances or wait long periods to have their passports renewed.
Mr. Wynter said measures have been implemented to ensure that customer information is safeguarded.
