The Prime Minister and Opposition Leader were out today participating in projects to mark Labour Day.
Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller joined other volunteers at the National Heroes Park in Kingston, which was designated the national project.
Mrs Simpson Miller says she's satisfied that work was done at Heroes Circle Wednesday and stressed that the park needs to be maintained in good condition.
Mrs Simpson Miller also stopped by the shrines of former Prime Ministers Michael Manley and Hugh Shearer, with whom she had special relationships.
The prime minister says while she would have liked to have visited all the memorials; Mr Manley guided her as a young politician and Mr Shearer was her mentor.
Meanwhile Opposition Leader Andrew Holness spent the day toiling on three labour day projects in his constituency of West Central St Andrew. Mr Holness helped to install a swing as
part of a play ground at the Balcome Drive Primary School, re- paint stop signsand crossings in Seivright Gardens and provide housing for two elderly
residents in St Paul's Lane.
