Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness has promised that the beach access and management policy will be shared with the public in short order.

Unrestricted access to public beaches has been a thorny issue which the government is hoping to resolve through policy.

"That policy is almost complete and very shortly we will bring that to the public, and I believe that that policy will solve many of the issues, which I pay very close attention to. I don't usually get involved in the back and forth and back and forth. My job is to come with the solution. Not to just come and say I intend to do it. So when I speak, you know you have a solution that will solve the problem. So we are very close to that," Dr. Holness declared.

He was speaking at the National Labour Day Project at Mason River Environmental and Research Park in Clarendon on Friday.

During his contribution to the 2024-2025 Budget Debate on March 21 last year, the Prime Minister had indicated that the beach access and management policy was complete and would have been tabled at the next sitting of the House of Representatives.

The policy green paper was tabled in the lower house in October 2020.
