JLP Area Council 2 chairman Everald Warmington and PNP General Secretary Dr. Dayton Campbell
General Secretary of the People's National Party (PNP) Dr. Dayton Campbell has called for member of Parliament for South West St. Catherine, Everald Warmington, to be disciplined for his use of profanity on a political platform in Westmoreland on Sunday.
Dr. Campbell says charges should also be laid against the JLP Area Council 2 chairman.
Speaking at a workers' award ceremony in Westmoreland Central, Mr. Warmington addressed internal rumblings against member of Parliament George Wright, who was readmitted to the Jamaica Labour Party in February following a controversial incident in 2021.
The senior JLP member, his remarks laced with profanity, urged dissatisfied supporters not to stay home but to instead vote for the JLP and Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness and not let the constituency return to the PNP.
In a swift response at the Frome Divisional Conference in Westmoreland, the PNP General Secretary questioned whether Prime Minister Holness and the JLP hierarcy would take disciplinary action against Mr. Warmington.
Citing how dancehall artistes are usually charged for using "indecent language" on stage during their performances, Dr. Campbell called for the Jamaica Constabulary Force to similary charge Mr. Warmington for his behaviour on the political platform.
