Police continue to probe Gordon House break-in

A high level probe is in progress, to ascertain how intruders entered  the Parliament building on Duke Street in Kingston, ransacked sections of  the facility, and stole equipment.

RJR sources confirmed that two members of  the Jamaica Constabulary Force were on duty during the break which occurred between three and four o'clock on Thursday morning.

Investigators theorize that the intruders gained access, by scaling the wall which runs adjacent to the Jamaica Manufacturers' Association's car park.They entered the office of  Senate President Floyd Morris, ransacked desk drawers and reportedly stole a computer assigned to him.

The Senator’s robe and other personal items were reportedly trampled on by the intruders.

They also ransacked the office of  House Speaker Michael Peart and ransacked the desk drawers of  other employees

In August, thieves attempted to gain entry to the canteen, however they were unsuccessful.

Scare at Gordon House                                                           

And there was a minor scare at Gordon House on Thursday afternoon.

It’s reported that employees evacuated the building, after the fire alarm went off  about 3:30 and smoke was seen coming from an air conditioning duct near th ecanteen.

Two units from the York Park Fire Station responded.

Firefighters conducted a walk through and shortly after, determined that it was safe for parliament staff to re-enter the building.
