Police detain two suspects in Roy Lee’s murder

The police have detained two suspects in connection with the killing of prominent Linstead businessman Roy Lee.

A police source told RJR News that the suspects who are from St. John's Road in Spanish Town were arrested last Friday following a robbery of a group of visitors.

The police say they connected the men to Mr. Lee's killing Monday after ballistics tests conducted on a gun seized from them showed that it is the licensed firearm stolen from Mr. Lee.

The men were held on Friday following a gun-battle with the police along the Old Harbour main road.

It was reported that on Friday morning the men held up and robbed a group of visitors in Bridgeport, St. Catherine.

Sometime after, the car with the men was intercepted by the police along the Old Harbour main road.

One of the men was shot and injured and the other captured by the police.

Initially, the police said they were unable to link the men to Mr. Lee's killing because the serial number of the gun had been erased.

Mr. Lee, a popular figure in Linstead, St. Catherine was gunned down at his business place on December 8.
