The dress worn by some police personnel while on duty is again being questioned by the High Command of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF).
In the latest Force Orders, the High Command said the general unprofessional dress and deportment of some members reflect negatively on the image of the JCF.
It added that it also represents a breach of Force directive.
The High Command said of particular concern is officers who wear denim suits.
They are required to have badges and other insignia prominently displayed.
The High Command has acquired specially designed denim suits to be worn by members of Mobile Reserve, Specialist units as well as Operation and Support Teams.
It has also observed the wearing of caps with the police insignia by personnel who have not been authorised and officers in uniform wearing tams not issued by the JCF.
The High Command says Divisional Commanders should ensure that personnel are appropriately attired while on official duties.
