Three persons
including one of the country's most wanted men and a woman were killed by the
Trelawny Police Friday night.
Orlando Minto, 32, otherwise called "Indian Ras", Barrington Coy, 38, also known as "Jimmy" both of Lilliput in St. James, and an unidentified woman were dead.
The woman is believed to be in her mid thirties, dark skinned, of medium build, about 165 centimetres tall and was clad in a grey blouse, black skirt and dreadlocks.
In April, Minto escaped custody while being transported from the Horizon Remand Centre in Kingston to the Montego Bay Criminal Court.
Shortly after 11.15pm a police team in patrol in Jackson, Trelawny reportedly signaled a white Toyota Starlet to stop.
The occupants of the vehicle allegedly opened fire at the lawmen and a shoot-out ensued.
Four persons reportedly alighted from the car but when the shooting subsided three, including the woman, were found suffering from gunshot wounds.
A fourth man escaped.
A .44 Magnum revolver with four rounds of ammunition, including a .40 round, was reportedly found in the vehicle.
The injured persons were taken to the Falmouth Hospital where Minto and Coy were reported dead and the woman died in surgery.
Minto, who at the time of his death was facing charges of shooting with intent, was also wanted in connection with several other shootings and murder in St. James.
This is the second time in a month that the Trelawny Police have shot and killed wanted men.
