A 19-year-old man Sunday afternoon cut his way free from
a section of the cell block at the Greater Portmore Police Station in St.
Catherine.
The man identified as Rohan Smith, was being held on a gun related charge.
According to reports about 2 o'clock police were making routine checks on the "L" Block when they discovered that Mr. Smith was not in his cell.
They conducted a further search and discovered that he had removed a portion of the structure to escape.
Up to post time the police said Mr. Smith remained a fugitive.
