The prisoner who escaped from custody last Friday after disarming and shooting a police officer at the National Chest Hospital in St. Andrew was captured on Friday.
Ricardo Richards, 31, was held during a police operation at a guesthouse in St. Andrew.
Richards, also known as 'Kaka', who is from Nine Miles in Bull Bay, St. Andrew, escaped from the hospital after his handcuffs were removed while he was being treated by a doctor.
The incident prompted the Jamaica Constabulary Force to review security measures for prisoners receiving medical care at hospitals.
At the time of his escape, Mr. Richards was charged with murder, illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition, as well as shooting with intent.
