President of the Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica (PSOJ) Metry Seaga has welcomed news that the government has reached a wage agreement with the teachers and medical doctors associations.

Mr. Seaga said it is important that the groups recognise the benefit that will accrue to the country.

"I don't know the specifics of the deal and don't need to know. What I need to know is that they have come to an agreement and Jamaica has won for that. Some people are talking about how the minister has won or the government has won. I think that's rubbish. I think that who has won are the children and the people of Jamaica," he insisted.

The PSOJ boss wants the hold outs in the ongoing wage talks, including the police, to head to the bargaining table to quickly conclude the discussions.
