Motorists traversing the Salt Pond to Pamphret road in Yallahs, St. Thomas, which deteriorated following heavy rainfall, can expect repairs to be completed in another month.

The road is part of the Southern Coastal Highway Improvement Project.

In August, low quality material was identified as the reason for the defects.

Robert Morgan, Minister with responsibility for Works, said the repair work should be completed by next month.

"The main contractor who is responsible to repair any defects that are identified, has assured myself and the National Works Agency that the repairs are going in good order. I just want to make it very clear to members of the public that even after the road is handed over to the government, for two years, the main contractor is responsible for any defect identified, and this will be at no cost to the government," he advised.
