Limited (RJR) wants to distance itself from statements made on Nationwide News Network (NNN) Nationwidenews at 5 programme
hosted by Cliff Hughes and Elon Parkinson on
Thursday Janauary 5, 2009.
During NNN's Nationwidenews at 5, broadcasters Cliff Hughes, Elon Parkinson, Dennis Brooks and others made innuendos and accusations against Mr. Ian Hayles, Member of Parliament for the Constituency of Hanover Western.
RJR has no evidence that Mr. Hayles is a squatter and has no evidence in respect to any of the accusations by Mr. Hughes, Elon Parkinson or Nationwidenews at 5 and others who made any such statements concerning Mr. Hayles and is satisfied that to the best of its knowledge, information and belief, there exists absolutely no justification for such accusations or innuendos.
Radio Jamaica Limited unequivocally apologizes to Mr. Hayles, for the broadcast of the innuendos and accusations contained in the broadcast and deeply regrets any embarrassment or loss of reputation he has suffered as a result.
Radio Jamaica also wishes to assure Mr. Hayles and the public in general that they are not associated with or connected to the Nationwidenews at 5 programme which is prepared, hosted and broadcast by Nation Wide News Network Limited which leased time on the RJR AM Band from Radio Jamaica Limited the licensee.
