Nicole Thomson, Principal of New Providence Primary School in St. Andrew, is urging the authorities to address the longstanding issue of garbage being dumped on the school grounds.
Mrs Thomson says residents have been dumping garbage on the property, situated in Stand Pipe, for years, despite efforts by the NSWMA to clear the skip daily.
She says the dumping continues as soon as the area is cleared.
Mrs Thomson says the garbage is blocking the sidewalk, forcing students to cross the road to get home, which poses a safety risk.
She says letters have been sent to the relevant ministries, but no action has been taken.
Mrs Thomson has expressed a desire to transform the affected area into a garden to improve the school's entrance and requested the removal of the skip, as well as the installation of a perimeter fence for the school.
