Eight years after it was established, the Secret Gardens monument in downtown Kingston - built to record the names of children killed under violent and tragic circumstances - has run out of space.

Floyd Green, State Minister for Youth, who made the disclosure on Thursday morning at the launch of National Child Month, said more than 1,000 names have been added to the monument.

"The reality, which is a sad reality, is that the monument is now completely out of space. This is an injustice to our country and this is something that we cannot be proud of, but we must take it as a call of action to do something about it," the State minister lamented.

The monument was established in 2008.
