The Clarendon Police are reporting more successes in their anti-crime initiatives following the seizure of three illegal firearms, a quantity of ganja and the arrest of several persons of interest in two separate operations in the parish Sunday.
The first operation was conducted in the community of Dampee, just off the Bustamante Highway shortly after 8 o’clock.
Commanding Officer for the parish Superintendent Dathan Henry says in that operation 15 persons were picked up, one of whom was charged for possession of ganja.
Three others were detained on suspicion of robberies and rapes committed in the community.
In the second operation, police personnel went to Rosewell Road near Sandy Bay where they seized three homemade guns.
The weapons were stashed away in bushes.
No one was arrested in connection with that operation.
Meanwhile, the Clarendon Police have began to release some of the 25 persons who were detained late Saturday evening following a cordon and search operation in May Pen.
