Two shopkeepers were charged with stealing electricity in Springfield, St. Elizabeth late Friday.
Lisa Beckford and Audrey Johnson are both booked to appear in Court on January 11 and 26.
This brings to six the number of residents from the parish who have been charged over the past three days in the clampdown on electricity theft.
Four persons were charged on Tuesday in Newell and Barbury Hall.
The latest arrests resulted from an operation being conducted by the Jamaica Public Service Company and the Black River Police on Friday.
It's reported that the teams went to Springfield and during checks discovered illegal connections from a JPS pole to two shops.
A member of the team revealed that the JPS has encountered challenges identifying some of the illegal connections, as the thieves have resorted to using thinner wires.
In one instance the JPS team was alerted to an illegal connection when sparks were seen coming from trees, during heavy rain.
