Some St. Elizabeth residents to go without water as NWC services pump

Residents serviced by the Little Park Deep Well in St. Elizabeth will be without their regular supply for the next nine days.

The NWC says it is attempting to repair a mechanical problem affecting the pump.

This has left several areas in Treasure Beach and adjoining communities and districts without water.

A spokesperson for the NWC told RJR News on Tuesday that a crew is working to have the system back in operation by March 24.

During the disruption period, the NWC representative said efforts will be made to truck water to the affected communities.

Only last week at the St. Elizabeth Municipal Corporation monthly meeting, Jeremy Palmer, Councillor for the Pedro Plains Division, called for the development of a water plan to ease the difficulty faced by residents during periods of drought.
