School administrators at St. James High are locked in an emergency meeting following the theft of documents including Caribbean Examinations Council papers from the institution last night.
The thieves reportedly stole a fire resistant cabinet from the administrative office in which the examination papers, needed for today were being stored.
The office was also ransacked.
The principal, chairman and other officials are in the meeting.
It's not clear at this time what alternative arrangements were made for the affected students.
Radio Jamaica News spoke with Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education Maureen Dwyer and Executive Director of the Overseas Examinations Commission Hector Stephenson who confirmed that the police are investigating a break-in at St. James High school.
Mr. Stephenson said a statement on the incident will be released later today.
