By Prince Moore

The man who was arrested for the murder of 14-year-old Price Johnson has been charged.

St. Andrew South Criminal Investigations Branch on Tuesday charged 38-year-old Imanie Niah Lydner, an unemployed resident of Crescent Road, Kingston 13, for multiple serious offences, including the murder of the 14-year-old Haile Selassie High School student, who resided in Palm Grove, Spanish Town Road, Kingston 13.

Lydner has also been charged with housebreaking and wounding with intent.

The wounding occurred following Lydner's attack on a male who attempted to come to the child's assistance. He was hit in his head by Lydner in his bid to escape.

The charges stem from an incident that occurred on Thursday, February 6, at the home of the deceased.

Following investigative efforts, Lydner was apprehended at his residence on Sunday, February 9, with assistance from his relatives after he had not been seen over the weekend.

He was taken into safe custody, where formal charges were laid against him Tuesday.

He remains in police custody as the investigation continues.

The case file will be submitted to the court, which will determine his court date.
