The Counter-Terrorism and Organised Crime Investigation Branch (C-TOC) has charged a taxi operator in connection with the trafficking of a 16-year-old girl.
Andre Catnott, a 35-year-old of Longwall, Stony Hill in St. Andrew, was charged Monday with child trafficking.
He is scheduled to appear before the Kingston and St. Andrew Parish Court on Friday.
According to the police report, in November 2024, while working as a taxi driver for a rideshare company, Catnott met the teenager who had hired his taxi.
He learned that she ran away from home and offered her employment as a model for his massage company.
It is alleged that the two exchanged contact information.
But when the teen accepted the offer, she was subsequently coerced into performing sexual acts with various clients in the Corporate Area for money, which Catnott collected.
In February 2025, a family member located the teen and reported the matter to the police, prompting an investigation.
On September 17, C-TOC investigators conducted an operation at the suspect's home where he was taken into custody.
Investigations into Catnott's operations are ongoing to apprehend his accomplices.
The public is urged to share information regarding persons involved in human trafficking and other organised crime by calling C-TOC at 876-967-1389, National Intelligence Bureau at 811, Crime Stop at 311, or the nearest police station.
