Ten Cubans in Jamaican police custody after arriving illegally

Ten Cuban nationals who recently arrived illegally in Jamaica are now in custody facing related charges.
 
The Cubans arrived in the western parish of St James by boat over the last two days.
 
This was disclosed by Assistant Superintendent Rodrick Reid of the St James Police Division.
 
He disclosed that seven Cubans initially arrived on three small boats about 6:30 on Saturday morning, and "were intercepted by the police along the Unity Hall main road in St. James, and they were taken into custody."
 
He said another three Cuban nationals similarly in a small boat "about 10:43 a.m... at the Half Moon Hotel."
 
He told Radio Jamaica News that the Cubans are being processed by officials of the Passport Immigration and Citizenship Agency.
