Today, August 18, is Nomination Day in Jamaica.
Candidates vying for seats in the September 3 general parliamentary election and local government by-elections will be nominated at designated nomination centres across the 63 constituencies.
The Electoral Office of Jamaica says all's in place for the exercise.
Nomination of candidates will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., while nominations for the by-elections will be accepted from noon to 2:00 p.m.
The EOJ has reiterated that nomination fees must be paid in bank notes.
