TVJ moves against unauthorised broadcast of material from Champs 2015

Television Jamaica (TVJ) has initiated action over what it says is the unauthorised use of  content from the 2015 ISSA Boys and Girls Athletics Championships.

The company has written to Irwin Clare, Chief  Executive Officer of  Team Jamaica Bickle, in the United States,  giving the entity ten days to settle the issue or face legal action.

Team Bickle reportedly facilitated viewing of  the event at Magnet Lounge in New York for which a financial contribution was promoted. No closed circuit broadcasting or public viewing rights was granted.

Television Jamaica has informed Team Bickle that it is in breach of  the intellectual property rights of ISSA and TVJ.

TVJ says it has information that the US entity intends to re-broadcast coverage from Love TV, www.ctvn and HYPE TV South East in Florida, for which no cable rights had been granted.

There are reportedly also plans for the event to be broadcast on CIGO TV London, for which no mobile, cable or online rights had been granted.
