Two in custody in relation to lottery scamming

A man and woman are in police custody facing lottery scamming charges.

They were held during an operation carried out by members of the Lottery Scam Taskforce on the Brandon Hill main road in St. James Monday afternoon.

It is reported that the couple, who was travelling in a Toyota Premio motor car, was signalled to stop.

The police say evidence of lottery scamming was found during a search of the vehicle.

A warrant was prepared and a follow-up operation was carried out at their home in Catherine Hall, St. James.

Nineteen lead sheets, a tablet computer and two cellular phones were allegedly seized.
