Two motorists died on Old Harbour Road in Spanish Town, St. Catherine early Monday morning after their vehicles collided in the vicinity of Chedwin Park.
The deceased have been identified as 44-year-old Carlos Pryce of Burnside Valley in St. Andrew, and 26-year-old Shandee Williams of a Westmoreland address.
The police say about 2 a.m. two motor cars were travelling in opposite directions along Old Harbour Road when there was a collision.
Both vehicles were extensively damaged, trapping the drivers inside.
They died at the scene.
Firefighters from the Spanish Town fire department were called to remove the bodies of the men from the wreckage, after which they were taken to Spanish Town Hospital for an official pronouncement of death.
The St. Catherine North Division has so far recorded 13 fatal crashes, compared with 18 during the similar period last year.
