Two men are dead following a reported gun battle with the police early Friday morning in Cambridge, St. James.
Two illegal firearms were also seized.
About 5:00 a.m., the police conducted an operation in the community of Wotumpeng in search of wanted men aligned to the Ratty Gang.
They went to a property and were reportedly fired upon.
During the shootout, Richard Anderson otherwise called ‘Crews’, who is wanted for murders in St. James, and an unidentified man were found with bullet wounds. They died at hospital.
A Smith and Wesson revolver and a Colt pistol were seized following the shooting.
The police say Ryan Peterkin otherwise called Ratty and his gang have been operating in the area and are responsible for several murders, shootings as well as robberies.
Peterkin and Richard Anderson are among eight persons being asked to turn themselves to the police.
The others are Oswayne Jarrett, otherwise called Ski Mask and Marlon Samuels alias Brutal, both from Barrett Town in St. James.
Christopher Boyd also known as Plank from Flanker; Stephano Johnson also known as Sarge from Hampton; Marcus Robinson otherwise called Killa and Shaniel Luton, all from St. James, are also on the list.
