UHWI completes report on Jalisa McGowan case

The University Hospital of the West Indies has completed its report on the case involving 17-year-old Jalisa McGowan.

Jalisa's family says she was taken to the hospital during an asthma attack last Friday but was turned away due to space challenges.

The teenager died later at the Andrews Memorial Hospital.

Kevin Allen, CEO of the University Hospital, on Thursday told Radio Jamaica News the report was sent to the Ministry of Health in keeping with a directive from Minister Dr. Christopher Tufton.

Mr. Allen declined to comment on the report.

During a news conference on Tuesday, Dr. Tufton said action will be taken based on the outcome of the investigation.
