UK police hunt J’can suspected of infecting lover with HIV

The police in Britain are searching for a Jamaican man who is suspected of knowingly infecting his former partner with HIV.

The man, who is identified as Jermaine Scott, is being hunted after his ex girlfriend told officers that he infected her with the virus.

Scott, 27, who is believed to have lived in the United Kingdom for the past 10 years, has links to Merseyside, Wolverhampton, Huddersfield and London.

Detectives advise that any sightings be reported to the police so that the information can be acted upon.

An appeal is out for Mr. Scott to surrender to the nearest police station.

Anyone who knowingly infects another person with HIV in Britain can be charged with grievous bodily harm.

Mr. Scott’s former girlfriend, a mother-of-two from Cheshire, decided to make the complaint because she is worried that he could put other women at risk.

The young mother is being supported by members of her family and close friends but is said to have endured taunts from former associates.
