The United Kingdom has removed all COVID-19 related travel restrictions for Jamaica.
Following the updated advisory from the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office on Friday, multi-national travel company, Tui, has indicated that it will restart flights to Jamaica next week.
The Ministry of Tourism said the development will provide a much needed boost to the sector.
"We have been losing millions of US dollars in revenue (but) now that the UK Government has withdrawn that travel advisory, we're back in business with the UK market. Tui is going to restart services as early as next weekend, as many as six flights per week," Delano Seiveright, Senior Strategist in the Tourism Ministry, advised.
Tui suspended flights in August due to the UK Government's advice to residents against non-essential travel to the Jamaica based on COVID-19 risk levels.
