Single vehicle access has been restored along the Hagley Gap to Mahogany Vale main road in St. Thomas after scores or commuters were left stranded on Tuesday morning due to a landslide.
Residents used pickaxes and shovels to clear a path through the landslide, allowing for single-lane traffic.
Meanwhile, a team from the National Works Agency has arrived with a tractor to clear the debris.
The road became impassable shortly before 6 a.m. when a retaining wall collapsed, bringing down debris from the hillside.
