Two of three persons are dead following a plane crash in Greenwich Town, off Marcus Garvey Drive in St. Andrew.
One passenger, a student pilot, was pulled from the plane immediately after the crash and is in intensive care at hospital.
The other two victims, the flight instructor and another student, were pronounced dead while still in the wreckage.
Authorities said the plane belonged to the Caribbean Aviation Training Centre.
A statement from the Jamaica Civil Aviation Authority (JCAA) said approximately 1:34 p.m., the Cessna 172 aircraft, registration N101KA, crashed shortly after take-off from the Tinson Pen Aerodrome. The plane fell into a house and exploded. No one on the ground was hurt.
Friefighters, a Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) medical team, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Health and other officials were on the scene.
The Jamaica Civil Aviation Authority and the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) are investigating the incident.
