US Customs & partners seize cocaine near BVI

The United States Customs and Border Protection says cocaine weighing 4,294 pounds was seized off the coast of the British Virgin Islands.

The move has denied transnational criminal organisations about US$48.7 million in revenue.

CBP said, with the efforts of international partners, they detected a suspicious vessel near the BVI earlier this month and maintained continuous observation of it.

The vessel attempted to evade law enforcement, making erratic manoeuvres, and eventually ran into a dock.

Three people absconded.
